Hello I'm New! From Cumbria

I'm new to the world of Land Rover.

I've normally been the owner of sports cars! But the move to a new home with very bad access required me to get something a bit more off road.. So I went all the way out and got a discovery 2 which I've had my eyes on for years.

It's a Disco 2, auto 55 plate with 100k miles. One owner and serviced x2 times per year. The MOT previous did mention signs of undercarriage rusting.... maybe needs waxoyled? I don't know if this is common. Also mention to a potential gearbox oil leak... Also the only other fault is that maybe 1 out of every 10 starts, the engine cranks but doesn't fire up?? I need this sorted really!

Other than that I'm happy..

Welcome, get on your back under the car use a stiff brush to clean it then get it waxoyled. Will save you headaches later. Mike

,Rust on a D2 chassis is more or less a certainty,get it up on a ramp if possible and have a very very good look,the most common areas are the rear chassis sections and especially in and around the fuel tank area.Have a good prod around with a old screw driver,hopefully it won't be too bad,hopefully,good luck mate,lets us know what you find out.
