Hello from western Canada

Hi Everyone,
Although I've owned Land Rovers for a couple of years, This is my first time on the forum. I didn't have much to do with Land Rovers prior to buying my first 1959 Series 2 88", but, like many in the land rover world, one wasn't enough and my collection now includes the 1959 Series 2 88", a 1965 Series 2a 88" and a 1970 Series 2a 88". The '59 and '65 are daily drivers and the '70 is currently under a full restoration. I'm looking forward to looking through some of the old threads and looking at other members restoration process. I've attached a few pictures.

Thanks Alan. Probably a limited amount of Canadian Content in the forum, but I'm always up to meeting like minded people. Big thing in Canada is to make sure you have some sort of block heater and cabin heater system. Always tricky with a land rover. Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for the welcome, John. It can be a bit tricky to source parts, but group shipments from the UK come over regularly so, other than time delays and increased shipping cost, I can get most of the bits needed. Hardest thing to do is the make sure you have everything in your order so you don't forget that small, cheap piece that holds up the project. Seems to happen regularly.

here in the Republic of Ireland the heater is a big priority. I ordered my own heather matrix this morning for my Td5 Defender. The heater has been working when it feels like it, so I am hoping that a refurbishment will answer all of my cold drives back from horse riding . When you have been stood around watching a child riding for an hour or so, a bit of warmth goes down well

If you ever need standard Series 3 heater parts let me know. The heater cowling is discontinued as a spare part but I know an engineering company in England who can manufacture it at a decent price. Saying that you'd be taking a risk relying on standard landy heating for a Canadian winter.
