Hi my name is Phil and for tge last 17 years I have been driving my 3 door Freelander here she has on,y done 75k so is just about nicely run in! I do however have a question does anyone know if the roof bar alloy is weldable as I have a stress crack down the seam and am looking for a suitable solution to fix it!

Hi Phil, welcome to forum.

No idea, I would probably just leave it in situ and drill 3mm holes either end of the crack and then use a dremmel to clean out oxidized ally and then get some liquid metal in there to knit it all back together.

Thanks for the info, looks like a Dremmel job to clean out the crack and stop drill it, The advice from Landrover was to visit the local agent when I pointed out that local agents were hardly likely to know the spec. of an alloy the advice changed somewhat, hence the question and joining, its nice to be part of a community and even nicer nice to know that there are others on the Rock that appreciate the owing Landrover challenge, so thanks guys!
