Hi been dipping into this site for a couple of weeks now since buying Percy a series 3 109 he is older than I am .I have only driven him 3 time s due to brake and steering problems and every time I have had an adventure .had my first of road experience last night and discovered the limits got stuck 5 times and found that backwards off roading in mud at night on your own is not much fun had to almost let the tyres down flat and made the handbrake smell a bit funny .also ripped my number plate and bent my rear steps but go home so not all bad .

Hi Paul just joined the Land Rover community from wet and snowy Harrow i drive Military Land Rover Defender 110 Canvas Roof Pickup 1987/D 2.5L 4 Cylinder Diesel.

Hi all the place i was badly off roading is just after the bus stop if you are traveling away from cambourne towards hardwick on the old road ,it is just after the bridge over the 428 on the road to bourn ,I believe its popular with dogging if you read the graffiti .
Cant say i recommend it essentially its about 400 yards till you reach what i thought would be a turning point only to discover there was no chance and got stuck for 20 minutes just trying to reverse thank god i had my leatherman and was able to cut a bit of a tree after it had speared my number plate .
I had to then drive backwards with the help of a head torch and leaving log markers every 30 yards or so to show were I could stop to check the path behind .
Before I seriously let the tyres down i was contemplating abandoning percy till the morning then getting some kind of off road recovery as it seemed impossible .
