Hi there, got me a 1989 TD 90 hardtop a few months ago. Heat of the moment purchase, engine ready to explode, rear cross member going etc etc. Should've joined the forum before buying and got some of your input first. Anyway, got a 200Tdi Disco engine off eBay, thats now in and a vast improvement. Had to fit a new thermostat and Hylomar it in to get any warmth at all. Found a hardtop on eBay with side windows and alpines, waiting to go on. Fuel tank started leaking big time last week (dumped a full tank on the drive in a couple of days while the Landy was parked up). So Britpart tank bought from Island 4X4, £82 delivered, had to be fitted at weekend. Spent Friday night and all day Saturday under the landy in mud, leaves and diesel but got the old one out and new one in, fired her up at joyfully 11:45 pm Saturday much to the delight of the family and neighbours.
Now need to fit veg oil tank and heat exchanger etc. Can I get a TD5 tank in there without taking the body/floor off? And can you buy the filler "box" and bits to install in a hole cut in the tub? Will the tdi lift pump suck the veg oil OK from back there or do I need to fit a pump in the tank?
