Hi! I bought a 2003 Disco 2 in July. It appeared in great working order, just needed some cosmetic work. Obviously, that was not the case. I haven’t been able to drive it for even a week in all the time I’ve had it. My brother is assisting me in working on it, which is becoming a full time job. Every time I think it’s almost ready, another issue presents itself. I’m either too far gone to stop or need to stop soon, just with how much of a money pit it’s becoming.
Any way, I’ve replaced the spindles, all brakes, rotors, calipers, all brake lines, shocks, front bumper(to an ARB deluxe), drive shaft, tire carrier, lug nuts, parking brake vinyl, windshield wipers front and back, xyz switch, new keys(original snapped), drivers side seat switch, and more I’m sure I am forgetting right now. Most has been done by my brother but I have had a mechanic shop do some like the shocks and brake lines(since he can’t bleed brakes and we don’t have a vehicle lift).
I have a Safety Devices D1 roof rack with Hella lights that I recently purchased that has the D2 gutter brackets, but I have to get the roof painted first, the paint is completely gone to the fiber glass up there.
Currently dealing with P0307 and P0300 misfire codes. Going to change spark plugs, wires and ignition coils. I have a question about the ignition coils in the Discovery forum tab if anyone is familiar and wants to help.
Also, didn’t realize when I bought it but I have the wrong catalytic converter. It’s a Range Rover catalytic converter that is incompatible, so I have an exhaust leak. And it’s pretty loud all the time. Trying to find one at the scrap yard before I buy a new one.
