Hi there, I've bought my first Landy! She's a 1990 90 CSW. I picked her up 18 months ago, and thought it about time to join the Forum. Have used the search button many times, and almost always found the answer to my query.
I fell in love with Land Rovers many years ago. On my way to school in the early 1970's, I would take a detour to inspect a strange beast that caught my eye. It was a lightweight, but I didn't know that then.
First car was almost a Series 2, but bottled out and went for a MK2 Cortina instead.
It's taken this long to finally take the plunge and I'm not disappointed. 10,000mls with no real issues. A few things needed addressing, such as wheels + tyres, and a colour change from tired tired red to light stone. STT 235x85 r16 on Wolf rims look just right I think. Good hight without being overly wide. My brother ( very handy with the spanners) has a Disco 200tdi which will replace the wheezy 2.5td. I haven't used spanners in anger on a motor for many a year...........could go either way! For the MOT we replaced the rear crossmember and the tubular outriggers.........
I've done a few green lanes, now looking for something a little more adventurous. Planning a trip next spring to Morocco; not been before.
