Dear Readers

I am Daisy, a 2004 TD5 Discovery 2 Landmark. I met my owners at the age of 3 and we have been together ever since. There are 4 children, a dog, 2 cats plus mum and dad so my 7 seats are essential and the leather upholstery makes cleaning easier. We used to go camping in France every summer and I really enjoyed the journey although being on the wrong side of the road was strange.

And then my family decided to move to Australia! I thought I was going to be sold but I understand the cost of Australian Discoveries made it worth shipping me out. I suspect also that Daddy was really attached to Land Rovers (he has had 3 and we all have names; the other 2 were Polly, '83 SIII and Dolly, '93 200 Tdi D1) and actually enjoyed working on me to keep me healthy.

I am enjoying life in Australia. There is no salt on the roads and the warmer weather is nice. I am getting on a bit (12 years, 270,000km) so there have been a few aches and pains. So far Dad has changed my starter motor, radiator, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel valves, steering box, injector harness, rear diff and several door locks. He also needed help to change my gear box and clutch. At the moment I am having some difficulty starting in the morning but we will get that fixed soon.

My owners also have something called a 'Mini'. It is a strange little car with only 3 doors, no chassis and apparently only the front wheels connected to its engine! They call it Monty and I didn't really like him very much until this morning when he helped me wake up with something called a 'jump start'. There was lots of chatter about red leads and black leads and I didn't really understand but suddenly I felt energy flowing into my battery and away I went!

So here I am in Australia with my family. Dad is a pretty good self taught amateur mechanic (he keeps talking about something called an 'MGB'?) but he needs all the advice you can give him, otherwise I have to go to the 'dealers' and that does not sound good.

Regards

Daisy
