Hi All

New here. I will probably read and learn more than I post but wanted to say "hi" to everyone.

I bought my first Freelander in April - '04 TD4 HSE and it's the best car I've ever had - wish I'd bought one years ago! It's a really good looking car - black with running boards and privacy glass, and since getting it I've put a "Rover Ron" box on it which has made it a bit more lively. ;)

I am in sales and do quite a bit of mileage (this week's diary = Maidenhead, Birmingham, Central London and Darlington) and the Landy does it all effortlessly.

I look forward to being part of the family!

Sandy

I didn't know there were any green lanes left - thought they'd all been converted by the ramblers! :D

Off road I would say I'm a "beginner" - a couple of kerbs and the odd field or two. I think I'd have to practice a bit first!

Best way to practice is to come out laning. Get yourself some recovery points and, if possible AT tyres and come out and have fun. Plenty of lanes out there that your FL could manage.

You seem a good candidate for the landyzone courier service :D

Hi Nathan

As I sell software to the courier industry I'd say I probably am!!

I could even get you an electronic proof of delivery signature :D

Disco01 - the "recovery points" bit sounds a bit ominous but as the tyres need replacing in the next 1000 miles I may well look at AT.

It's just a rule we have, if you come out with the Herts Laners, we want everybody to be safe and that means proper recovery points. We never leave anyone behind, so we want to be able to recover you safely should the need arise.

Im a newbie laner and ive been out with two groups on l/z and all have the same atittude... what a site and what decent dudes.. call me a creep but i dont give a **** :D:D

Hmmm.

So I've been reading and I get that most of you lot don't have much good to say about the FL's. Hippos???? Gaylanders???? shame on you all - I love my car!!

Thanks all for the welcome. I've also been reading some of the comments posters get for not searching for answers to questions before posting new threads - so I promise to "ffs search" before I ask :D :D

As for the laners - well it sounds like my Landy is only fit for speed bumps and mini roundabouts according to you lot and I don't think I need recovery points for them! Go on - I know there are a million jokes in there.... you know you want to....

Happy weekend everyone!
