Hello!
After developing a weird obsession with Defenders I've finally got around to getting one after a few years trawling eBay and Instagram to get my Land Rover fix.
I'd drive my Mrs dad's 110 TD5 and loved it but living in London I wanted something a little more manageable so swayed towards the 90s.
I also wanted something that I, as a rookie DIY mechanic, could tinker with and learn from so a 300tdi makes more sense.
Bought myself a 1990 Land Rover 90 converted to a 300tdi with heavy duty suspension, a slight lift and a few other bits. She's a little rattly but otherwise in pretty good shape. She was used for a bit of off roading so is no show pony however the last owner handed me a wedge of paperwork going back to 2003 and was pretty upset selling it despite my reassurances it would be loved so had obviously taken good care of her!
No doubt I'll be picking your brains on here about bits as I work my way around it.
Any tips greatly welcome. Also in the garage I have a 2000 CB500 which until recently had been sat in a mates garage for 5 years which I've now go running nicely. It needed value clearances doing, carbs cleaning and rebuilding, tank replacing and brakes doing. All done by myself... Now I'm in the club I expect I'll be giving the spanners plenty of use!
Some pics for you to enjoy! (Pics by previous owner)
Cheers!
