L322's are notorious for being expensive to run, repair and maintain.

Ha ha I really just wanted to reassure my self really if they was reliable really I've just sold my rangerover overfinch but that was petrol never had a diesel before
If I’m not mistaken 2.7 diesel fitted is the same as used in Discovery 3, generally reliable lump, just needs belts doing on time and the uprated oil pump fitting at the same time as belts. You’ll get many electrical niggles and probably a few air suspension issues but if you purchase a diagnostic then it’s ok.The point I was trying to make was is the Diesel engine as reliable as my old rangerover petrol engine as I have never had a diesel maybe I should of put it in a better context
