Hi Everyone
Thanks for letting me join Landyzone.
I would appreciate advice getting the history of my army Land Rover Defender please.
I went to the Merlin Archive website and typed in the ERM and it stated that it was not on its database.
The registration number is UFC 211P but it is a 1975 model and it was first registered in the UK in 1984.

Welcome.
Neither of those dates are what DVLA has for that registration.

Welcome to LZ.

Defenders were not made in either 1975 or 1984.

If it was made in 1975, it will be a Series, with a 2286cc petrol engine, if it was made in 1984, it will be a Ninety, or a One Ten, which in military form, would have had a 2.5 NA diesel.

Pictures of the vehicle and the engine bay would be helpful.

If you're going to edit things as important as date, AFTER, it has been pointed out, at least mention it!

Hi,

Many thanks.

Please find some pictures.

What is the make and model please as the DVLA have stated that the year of manufacture is 1975.

It's a SeriesIII. Says so on the plate.
Just for clarity. I take it you are a total novice to Land Rover? It will help going forward if people know this.
Awwwww..... Goldy.... The poor man's new here and clearly a bit "new" to Landies.
He will get used to the requirements of question-asking soon enough.
Shall we try not to discourage him too-much on his first interaction with us? ;) xx

I'm being nice. Asking if he is a novice will help him. There are some who will rip strips off him for not checking what he had before buying, let alone reading the panel ;)

All yours now. ;)
I can't be bothered with people either too lazy to read a link given to them , or just taking the proverbial.

Thank you. I am a novice. Does this mean that this is a Land Rover Series 3. I thought that I had a defender! The ERM is 58GF49 as stated on the vehicle. Where can i get the history please.
Petrol Series 3 I09". Definitely not a Defender.

According to the plate, it is ex Military, and it looks in need of a bit of TLC.

If it isn't already, get that registered as a Historic Vehicle, you will save yourself a bit of money.

And post about it in the Military Vehicles section on the forum, there will be people in there that know about ex-military stuff.
