First of all hi to all and finally I have registered even though I have been using the site for many hints and tips and have saved a lot of time and money with all of your help.

I do have an issue I could use some help with if possible

I have a 2005 td4 freelander which has just done 85k miles, on a bit of a road trip I noticed sudden loss of power and a lot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. I did some research and low and behold the inter cooler hose was split and so have replaced that and seems to be much better.

Since the replacement though I'm still getting black smoke and now a bit jumpy when putting my foot down. Mpg also seems to be heavily effected

I'm going to replace the air filter and oil filter and wait and see what happens. Any other ideas will be appreciated as I am going away again next week and want a trouble free trip especially with my little one on board

Thanks in advance for your help.

All resolved after fitting a new intercooler hose, I did need to re fit it several times and found the nack was it kept coming off the radiator side as it wasn't pushed on far enough and the jubilee clip kept slipping.

Anyway now alls orated and car is running fine.
