My Xtrail was a heap of shyte:rolleyes:

The first one we had was bought from it's first owner at 242,000 miles for £300 to use a mobile skip to clear a lot of rubbish from out house. At the end of it's labours I sent it to the car cleaners and it came up like we hadn't touched it so we ran it for another three years and sold it doing the same mpg as when it was new at 280,000 miles. The second one was a 2nd generation and has proved equally reliable and cheap to run. What am I thinking....

@Phoenix73

For scrap money that looks great:)

And sometimes the diesel boys need to try it one day and enjoy:D but it’s only banter everybody helps all they can:)

Like your pics looks well as all do. As I have learned keep it well maintained and will run a very long time.
Welcome and enjoy

I've been thinking about that, but, really? Let's say you go for a long drive, 3 or 4 hours, that's an 8th of a day, on top of that as soon as you open the doors, all that dry air gets wafted out. Surely?
Sure some of the air will waft out, but the 3 or 4 hours will have removed much of the moisture from carpets etc and of course the condensation from the windows.

Can't say that about ours. bought it at 242,000 miles, used it hard, sold it three years later at 280,000 and it was still doing the same mpg as when it was new.
Mine was an ex demo 1 year old car, the handbrake was useless and the dealer couldn't fix it, it ate the turbo more than once, intercooler burst, constant oil leaks, makes the P38 look oil tight. I got rid before the warranty expired.

If a dealer can't fix a problem on a 12 month old car, that's a pretty poor show

According to the dealer, there was a design fault on that year rendering the handbrake almost useless, they said the only way they could get them through the MOT was to adjust until the brakes were binding and slack off after the test.
Uphill starts with either the caravan or my digger on a trailer were interesting as the car could only be held with the foot brake.

I got the car from a friend who had purchased it from new. He also had problems with the turbo, was on its third by 20,000 miles, but on the last one they changed the intercooler & map and from then on it was good. I always found the handbrake pretty useless thinking about it.

and in a moment of minor comedy, over the weekend the Range Rover had to rescue our outgoing mark 2 x-trail after it broke down with a failed starter motor.

:rolleyes:even the SatNav was useless on the Xtrail, I have to say the P38 has been much more reliable than the Xtrail, not up to Pajero/Hyundai standards, but not too bad:D:D:D
