Hello all. Recently bought my first defender

Hi, I just got married and my condition with going through with an expensive wedding was that I finally got to buy that defender 110 that i have always wanted . I bought a blue 110 TD5 2003. It is my intention to drive from Portsmouth to Sierra Leone and back again, when I leave the military next November. I am brand new to this forum and I want to get into some off roading over the next year to build my skills for the trip. If anyone has experience overlanding, in particular West Africa, I would be grateful for any advice.

Welcome to the forum bud, I would recommend beefing up the security on your second beloved . as for green laning or off roading see if there's anything or anyone local to you in the green laning section

Cheers buddy, I intend to get a nice big steering lock for it. I'm not sure wether to attempt to have an immobiliser fitted, was hoping to have as little electrics as possible!!
