I have a Disco2 Td5 with various issues worst one being:- steam coming from upper rear of engine but unable to see exactly where from. Doesn't look like either of the hoses which cross the back of the engine and the coolant only goes down by a small amount is this likely to be the head gasket which I presume would be an expensive repair. Advise would be very much appreciated.

Hi Alan,

You might want to be a bit more specific is it one side or the other? Can you take a photo of the area affected.

Thanks for the reply, it appears to be coming from the middle of the back end of the engine but because of the bulkhead you can't really see down the back end

Sounds like H/g to me ! Not a hard job ! BUT a two man lift Coss the head is F00KIN heavy ! GET rid of the plastic dowls(coss they move) & fit steel ones !!
