Apologies if this has been asked before

My 1999 t reg freelander 1 suddenly began to play up this morning on a run from wigan to Sheffield about 3/4 there it started to loose power no revs and finally cuts out. After a few mins it would start and run again for about 10 mins before exactly same thing happened again.

We managed to get to where we were going before leaving it sit for couple of hours before we head back...

Has any one got any ideas last time this happend in diff car was cam sensor could this be same thing

Or any other help appreciated water and oil were fine

Petrol or doozle?

Sorry it's the 1.8 petrol

It could be the fuel filter check that the rubber gasket is sealed correctly, if it is the filter could be blocked

Cheers where do I find it sorry no idea not my area lol it did feel as if running out of fuel but got tank full

Cheers will have a look tomorrow when it's more light we did hear the pump change tones as if was struggling so ill check tomorrow when car empty..thanks again

Just an update broke down on motorway on way home called rac landrover socialist turned up checked for hgf thankfully wasn't that did the coolant check for co2 all clear bled coolant system.

He thought he had sorted the problem but about 10 miles stopped again felt radiator absolutely freezing bottom and top hoses checked bottom cold top hot even though we had been told thermostat had been swapped when got car couple months ago obviously hadn't.

Advised swap thermostat see if that works if not could be blocked rad..

Any ideas on how easy these jobs are for a lay man but I am able to have a go with manuals
