Heavy Clutch Pedal and Little Movement?

if it's master cylinder sometimes you can hear it sucking if you lift the pedal, get someone to listen under the bonnet and lift the pedal up and down. Slave cylinder could be leaking but you would see some fluid. I would favour master cylinder at fault
 
been an bought new slave and master today gonna have ago this weekend is everything in the same place on a defender?
 
hi guys can anyone please help i fitted a new master and slave and bled the system and it was fine and next day gone out to it and the pedal moves freely but theres no resistance and all the fluid is gone from the resevoir but theres no signs of any leaks so have i pushed the piston out the slave and all the fluid is going into the gearbox?
 
fluid wont go into gearbox but into bellhousing check undernearthe to see if wet that amount should have run out enough to tell ,

The fluid must have gone somewhere, are you sure you got all the air out it take quite a bit of fluid to fill new parts, the fluid can only go into the bell housing from that end and I'm sure you would see traces of it

Fill the master cylinder, disconnect the feed pipe from the master cylinder, put your thumb over where the feed pipe goes in, to block the hole and get someone to gently push the pedal, if there is any air in there you can expel it this way, then reconnect the pipe and bleed from slave, trust me when installing new slave and master cylinder there will be quite a bit of air in there.
 
Ok ill give that a go guys just finding it hard to get motivated ive just hd nothing but problems building this truck and its not far off completion and my budget has about run out same as my patients :-(
 
if it pushing fluid into bell housing,the slave piston has over travelled-this is a puched fork in my book-check how much slave rod protrudes from bell housing if only a few mm,fork is punched
 
rod sticks out about two inches maybe? the threads arent the best where the slave bolts and im wondering maybe where my mate bolted it he may have bolted it at an angle and thus causing the piston to come out too far and leak im unsure though but ive refitted the slave and bled the system so its justs finger crossed for now
