I was giving two common values depending on what his tester was set at !

Either 2M ohms if his tester was set at Mega
Or 2K ie 2000 ohms

ok, so i was set at 2000 ohms would that not work? my only othere setting down is 200 should i do the test again set on that?

200 is more appropriate as the resistance is likely to be less than 1 ohm. I checked my Fluke DVM and that shows 1 for open circuit so it sounds like your element has failed, no surprise.

I have this issue too! Although I do find it bizarre that both elements would both fail - will do some testing tomorrow. Number 1 on the list is to fit a new front R/H caliper... Land Rovers - they are a constant headache, yet undeniably loveable...
