Quick question... the more I look at what my equipment my TD5 Landmark had when I bought it, the more I think the PO(s) has either removed stuff, or it's not a Landmark.

According to this site http://www.discovery2.co.uk/discovery_spec.html it should have heated seats, or have I misread the table? Anyway, mine has no switches at all for the front seats..

Is there an easy way to find out whether the seats have the heater elements fitted?

A lot of land rover special editions, especially run out ones can be all fancy dress with no knickers.
I understand the last D4 landmarks are a bit spartan.

I'll have to take a look at mine tomorrow but im pretty sure you can see the wires coming from underneath going into the fabric underside somewhere

Just been to have a quick look under the front seats, and there's not much under there at all... There is some yellow cabling under both, but I thought this was part of the seat belt warning circuitry and t he only "spare" connector is under the drivers seat. I've checked the centre console, are there are two connectors for the switches, so can I assume that all I need are the switches themselves?

Here’s mine, 2 connecters for seat adjustment and heaters, and the one yellow plug is for the seatbelt tensioner, which tightens the belt when the airbags deploy I believe.

Does anyone know if the heated seat switches have to be installed in pairs, or can I just get one for the driver's side?

If I recall they have separate plugs on the back of them for each switch , not sure if the switches themselves are seperate or joined together but I can’t see why you couldn’t just plug one in, maybe wait for someone to confirm that though

Definitely different switches and connection blocks, but as @Jamiegreen says, can’t confirm how these connect together in the loom. Had my centre console out a few weeks ago to refinish the veneer.

Managed to pick up a couple of switches for 20 notes.... and I know it's not going to be as easy as just connecting them to the existing loom... it never is

So, as expected, just plugging in the new switches hasn't made the heated seats work :( Not sure if there a loom issue somewhere coz the ON light activates on both switches when the drivers side is turned on. Need to check it for any problems using Rave as a reference.

Well given the wiring you have under the seats I would be a little skeptical as to whether there are any heating elements in there  I'd offer you the seats out my old disco but they are probably in worse condition than yours (well the drivers) and probably quite far away, but they are heated/ electric controlled ones.

I did, but it wasn't the outcome I was hoping for.
Turned out that my leather seats didn't have the heating elements fitted to them.
