I realise that there are a number of posts relating to headlining repair or replace. The headlining on my 21 yr old disco 1 decided that it was a little tired and started to part company with the roof. My method of repair was to slit a small hole in the material large enough for a drinking straw and fit straw to aerosol can of 3 M high impact adhesive. Gently push straw into the lining and spray adhesive in small doses in various places. withdraw staw and wait a little while then press lining into place, I used a plastic bag not fingers to press the lining into place. Job done. A warning, too much adhesicve and it will soak through the material, otherwise no drooping lining.

I was thinking of trying this with mine was toying with whether to try this or just rip the lining out and start fresh

Good tip... I actually took mine out, stripped and recovered... it’s really not that daunting, just bag the components as they come off and work methodically. I removed mine to effect a proper repair on the sunroof. Also a really good opportunity to properly clean all the trim components as they are removed, surprising how much nicer the interior is without years of grime embedded in the plastic. Also replaced the poorly satnav antenna at the same time.
