Was talking to Jakedog on the phone earlier and I mentioned how I did the headlining on a couple of LR's, he thought it worth sharing it so here it is.. the tight lazy person's guide to repairing saggy or grubby headlining!

1. Remove headlining (plenty of guides on t'internet).
2. Rip off the knackered material.
3. Wire brush all the foam and glue off.
4. Paint with your choice of matt kitchen/bathroom paint.
5. Replace headlining.

Here's the one I did for my Discovery 2 (I'll spare you all the boring sunroof fixing photos), if you get the colour right you really can't tell it's not material unless you touch it and obviously it will never sag again. Won't please everyone but I was happy enough with it so...

I can vouch for this one working a treat.

A mate of mine did exactly the same thing on his MkIV Zodiac 25 years back and it looked perfect.

Just done mine in about 3 hours including painting in the sunshine. Looks fantastic. Just used up some old grey emulsion. Does it have to be bathroom paint ? they are all rubber these days
