Hi new to this but hope someone can help.

My discovery 300tdi is having a headlight problem. So when the headlights are on normal drivers side is on main beam but slightly brighter than normal and the passenger side is very dim looks like the side light is on.

I have cleaned and checked the plugs going to the bulb and all the earth's that I can find I also unplugged the resistor but that didn't make a difference I have tried another relay I'm not sure if there is any more.

Thanks in advance.

Check the headlamp bulb earth connection on the body (black wire) and/or replacing both headlamp bulbs with brand new ones.

And leave the resistor disconnected of remove the relay as you don’t need the dim-dip feature.
Also the relay modification above was suggested because the earlier RR and the 200 series disco had iffy wiring which was redesigned and up graded fo the 300 series so theres no reason for that mod with your disco which also has a possible fault potential.

Hi yes i have replaced both bulbs and unplugged the resistor is there 2 plugs for it or just one. Thanks.

Hi, the resistor is fitted on a heat sink/bracket which is mounted on the rear engine bay bulk head, or was when the vehicle left the factory, there is only one double pin plug, so just remove from its socket and tape it up and leave it at the side.
And then the dim dip function will be inoperative.😊
