Looking to do a light / bumper conversion on the 99 freelander to fit the later style bumper and lights.

Simonites do this as a kit but it seems expensive at about a grand. probably do it a lot cheaper with bits sourced from fleabay.

Anyone done this ???

Apart from a bumper and the lights what else is required parts wise and what is involved in fitting

thanks

Ive spoken to Simonites who offer this conversion (for a lot of money) He said its easy DIY but a certain amount of wiring work is required and a certain amount of cutting.

wasnt sure if he meant cutting wires or cutting body etc !!!!

The updated lights use different type bulbs, so different connectors may be required here. I would expect some trimming here and there.

remember seeing something about this in one of the LR mags. can't be 100% sure but i seem to remember something about the wings being a slightly different shape where they meet the lights.it was in either LRO or LRW magazine and the article was about the bloke who won the G4 replica freelander that they had as a competition prize. He had done what you want to do, ie- fitted the later style lights and bumpers.

Wings are the same You do however need to rewire front lights Ive just done mine not to hard Used Bmw Mini plugs for the front lights rears are very easy to rewire Just ttrying to fit rear bumper at the mo Front looks 100% Genuine tho cost £400 for front and £300 for rear This price includes spraying all parts from Flebay:cool:
