Loads of cars have these type of lights fitted now so its hard for police etc.. to determin which cars have them factory standard or not.

never been pulled in the year and a half of using mine :D

you have a smash, your lights are a contributing factor, insurance void, your liable. really worth it just for a bit of extra light innit.
 
well even if you did inform them about the headlights they couldnt even accept them because unless the lights you fit meet the regulations that are required for retro fitting these lights.

not worth the hassel even trying to inform them.

so many people have these lights now :D
 
I'm surprised you can so easily switch between headlamps - I thought xenon were a complete sealed light and reflector fitting. I would think the self levelling is important too.

I would have thought is was a very very dangerous thing to be effectively uninsured. An accident and the insurance co voiding your cover means you are liable to all manner of costs.#

I presume its OK for an oik of 17 with no money but leaving say a pedestian seriouly ill disabled or whatever (what about your passengers?) and with no comeback on your insurance (even if it may well be not you negligence or you culpable) would really be very serious.

Do not get me wrong I would be happy indeed for your sake to be wrong on this but I fear you are significantly at risk certainly with a power boost.

moving on to those who dont want to describe the cons and all the mayhem im going to cause with these new lights :p:p:p


Anyway

The install process.


Fitting the ballast unit and wiring loom.

just a simple plug in job, remove the old lamps plug in the in-line wiring loom and ballast then plug in the new lamps.

took no more than 20mins to fit both units.

only takes 2 mins to quickly pop in the old lamps if need be for MOT's etc...

The real difference is seen at night. just amazing the difference especially with all this fog !

A great upgrade, would highly recomend it

Hope this gives a good idea for those who are intrested in changing their lights themself.

I am thinking about doing the same to my TD4 '05 SE as I fitted one to my bike (BMW GS1200 Adv) and love it.
Does the dip beam now reduce the need for main beam as much? as I found on my bike I needed to use main about 1/2 as much (1/2 less) with a HID fitted to the dip due to the extra light given out by the dip HID kit.
 
yes mate, go for it !

as you know the difference you get on your bike, and i bet it made a lot more people see you better on your bike !

they make such a difference, i love them !

yes dont hardly use my high beams anymore, and when you do turn them on you can hardly tell there even on as the xenons are brighter !

I only have the dipped beam kit fitted as you cant fit them to high beamers because of there warm up time.

You can use them for main beam you just wont be able to flash anyone due to the warm up time (1-2 secs) as I have both done on my bike.
Who/where do you get yours from?
