Hi,
Only just got the Freelander.
How can I tell which type of headlamps it has?
Difficult to check at te moment as the bonnet struts are stuffed - have to find a ppiece of wood to keep it open!
Seems as though choice between Halogen and Xenon.
TIA
Andy

Without seeing the headlamp, it's impossible to tell, as there are several types.
However simply seeing how they light up and what colour temperature also gives a good clue as to the sort of illumination type used.

Thanks. Now if I had first looked at them i would have seen they are standard Quartz Halogen! Lesson Look first!

Still many potential designs depending on the vehicles age, and or spec. Hippo early design used black or grey plastic bumpers with single H4 bulbs, later came the face flit freelander with larger mostly colour coded bumpers with two separate bulbs for dipped / main headlights, H7 bulbs, Freelander 2 came with a similar set up, but was available with the option of Xenons on the gucci models or optioned onto more base models. I'm guessing with the fact you're dicking about with bits of wood as a replacement for the missing bonnet prop suggests it's a FL1 as FL2's are still holding prices above the bracket where such neglect creeps in. That being so your choices are H4 bulbs if it's a black / grey textured plastic bumpered car, or H7 bulbs if it's got colour coded bumpers.

Profile says Freelander 2. Also, Freelander 1 doesn't have bonnet struts, just a good old manual prop that doesn't fail !!

Progress, some say !!

I quite like the bonnet struts, but they're nothing new. My Rover 800 had bonnet struts, one of which was a locking one.

I'm tempted with the MuddyMods gas ones for my FL1. Frivolous luxury... especially given how often I have to open the flipping thing ;)
