Will a fault code be stored for the HDC issue if i get it checked with my mates snap on tester thing.
HDC light is mine possesed :(

Not sure if the code will come up in the abs computer or the engine main computer. Think I is correct in saying the brake pedal switch has 2 switches inside which is why it can fail in circuit but brake lights still work. I always ask about the lights un wipers working when the fault comes up as if the switch on the rear of the ignition has failed, the extra resistance across the failed contacts can cause electrical item not to work, but only when the engine is running.
If you still have the yellow hdc light coming on randomly, and the solution to get it to go out is to switch the ignition off then on again, then next item in the "chain of events" of what causes this is to change the accelerator pedal switch. This is a location sensor. Used as part of the hdc to know when to deactivate when you puts yer foot on the acc pedal. This was the final cure for mine. Few others too. If you like you could remove this and fiddle wiv it to see if you can create the fault yourself or just change it. Another cheap fix top try.

Hi guys and girls new to the forum. I have been reading the threads ref the Amber HDC light. Drove to the shops yesterday all Ok. Got in the car started up and the Amber HDC light remained on? Selected HDC in 1st and reverse green light does not illuminate. No other warning lights on. Break lights and reverse lights all fine checked micro switch and cables all seem fine voltage to switch. Also taken up the slack on the throttle cable. Just taken it out for a test drive ABS seems fine TC is working . What am I missing can anyone give me any suggestions!!

theres a level sensor near hand brake under consol they can fail

It's the longitudinal acceleration sensor. Allows the car to compare what it's doing, to what this sensor thinks it's doing.

Thanks Hippo I think I will try the reverse gear sensor first as some times the lights did not always come on. This was prior to this weekends Amber HDC light. Although now they are coming on every time? Every couple of months I will select HDC just so that I know it works and all is OK I did this only last week and all seemed fine. Just drove to the shops on Saturday all Ok. Came back out and amber light came on now will not go out when ignition is on and HDC will not now engage.

hi have had my fault code read and it came up with C1102 acceleration switch circuit fail???? i have a freelander td4 2001, can any one tell me where this switch is and where to get one?? have heard its under centre console behined hand brake, is this correct?? any help much appriciated!!
:welcome2:I have got the same problems with the 3 amigos and have replaced the brake light switch, then had it code read, i got the code C1102 which is abs accelerator switch circuit failure?? does any one know where the switch is on my freelander 2001 td4, have heard its in centre console next to hand brake is this true???

Longitudinal Accelerometer
The longitudinal acceleration sensor (sometimes known as ‘G’ sensor) is mounted in-cab near the centre-line of the vehicle alongside the handbrake lever. It provides additional information to the SCS ECU regarding vehicle motion, to corroborate inputs from the wheel speed sensors.
The signal produced by the longitudinal accelerometer is used by the ABS ECU to check the plausibility of the vehicle speed signal. Where the vehicle wheel speed sensors tell the ECU that the vehicle speed is faster than the actual vehicle speed.

changed the accelerator sensor (G sensor) and still got all lights on dash, am getting my tame garage owner to code read it again and i'll test/clean all abs sensors, put in C1102 code in google search and most results come back as a ford ranger fault, saying its the rear left abs sensor, do ford and landrover use the same programs on codes??
