Hdc inactive and trans failsafe programme

Had these coming up on the info centre in the last week or so, the car drives fine and does not go into limp mode at all, when the trans failsafe comes on I move it to manual or sport mode and it goes away, the cars a td6 on 109000 miles

Hdc and low range are working fine

Anyone got any ideas or advice

Always a good idea on these to start with the electrics. A poor supply can cause weird, purely electronic, faults. Get your battery and alternator checked.
 
There must be something in the air...Got into my rangie this morning, started her up and the message centre went crackers, had bings and bongs and watched as up came the following...
Transferbox Neutral, followed by Low Range, followed by the Low Range symbol on the dash, followed by High Range.

The message centre cycled through those messages about three times in succession, then up came Trans. Failsafe Prog.

Switched her off and restarted her after a couple of minutes...all clear! Nothing,nadan not a sausage, no bings, no bongs, no messages!!

Just driven the rangie to work, smooth and fine as usual. Will see what happens tonite when I come to go home. Got her booked into my Indy tomorrow for fitting new drop links on the passenger side, so I'll get them to do a diagnostic just in case.

Personally, I think these Range Rovers just throw up faults to keep us on our toes and make sure we lavish loads of attention on them!
 
not sure if this has any relevence to the trans fail safe alarm but i did some searching and found a manual gearbox reset on a forum ( cant remember which one lol).

anyway this is what i did and ive not had the message back for two days

1, climb in car and close all doors
2, insert key in ignition but dont turn it
3, floor the accelerator turn the key to position 2 but DONT start the car
4 keep accelerator pressed to the floor for 60 seconds
5 turn key back to the off position and release the accelerator
6 now start the car

anyway so far so good and no trans failsafe message :)

Possible - but I have heard that that procedure will reset the Gearbox Adative Learning settings (like the Engines Fuel Trims - only the GB 'learns' the wear of the box by how long it takes to engage each clutch pack and thus it can modulate the valves to suit the wear pattern)
 
Must be the season.
I had my 05 L322 HSE given its 130k service just a few weeks ago and recently it started flashing up "HDC Inactive" and "Air Suspension Inactive". It was never when on the go, usually just as I was reverse parking or if sitting idle for about 5 minutes.
Turn off, key out, wait 5 minutes and start again and all started working again with error cleared.
More recently, i.e. yesterday, I had just crawled over a speed bump and the "Transmission Failsafe Program" alert came up on the information centre. Car locked into single - very jerky to engage - forward gear (no kickdown, no Sport mode) and reverse.
Turning off, removing key and waiting a few minutes before restarting clears indication but it comes back again very quickly.

I have heard it could be anything from ABS Sensor, Battery (new battery from Dealer 3 months ago), alternator, on board voltage regulator (dash does "flicker" depending on what is running and if revs vary), to complete transmission. HELP!!!

Last item, and have seen it in a few other forums, is an annoying "creak" from front right side, when on left lock at low speeds. Dealer unabe to locate the source and lots of front suspension/steering components changed without success. I suspect maybe strut or engine mount. Any thoughts or easy checks as don't have access to ramp or stands.
