That’s the two batterie reading I’m getting
Was the new battery the correct capacity? Its dropped to 8.11V, which is very low.

Plus 1

The one that goes up to above 14 is the one with the engine on and sitting in idlehiya
would be worth having a look to see what the AH and CCA new battery data is because it’s been replaced doesn’t mean it’s the correct one
thks for the readings and indeed extremely low , however can’t tell from the screens if it’s with the engine on/ off and and what revs
what codes did u get

Yeah he has. There is lots of different things you have to go though and most of them has 2 or 3 things that comes upthks, assume ur other half being a mechanic has a multimeter , would u mind just getting the VDC with the engine off please
then do another Vdc reading with the engine at 2,000 revs plse
have u had a chance yet on the fault codes , as will be interesting to see what comes up
hope that helps

Perfect , if u have access to it and unsure can easily talk u through it , but of course don’t want to come across trying to teach u how to suck eggs but happy to walk u through anything on the multimeter if ur not familiar with
Plse let us know the fault codes when u get chance to scan the disco , before and after so candy ta least see what historical codes and current ones are and can then go from there
just the battery is key as if there not charging correctly will throw all sorts of xmas tree lights up on the dashboard
am just looking through the users manual for that scanner to see what it does

Think it dropped when I turned the engine on but went back up
So the battery is sitting to low? I won’t be able to put the codes up today as need to go away but when I get time I will. I remember 1 of the codes said brake light switch but already ordered a new one of them just need to fit itthks, if that’s with the engine off that voltage should be around 12.6Vdc particular seeing you charged it before fitting it

Ok. I’m going 2 clear all the codes and see what comes up agen before replacing anything. Yeah he been working in garages for years and he has also worked on lorriesafter a good charge and left overnight that should read a min of 12.6Vdc , when I’ve done mine around 12.8vdc
Concerning seeing you’ve only just charged it before fitting a brand new battery
no probs , if I may add please be very careful after getting the codes in not just replacing a part, otherwise u can get in the trap of just replacing parts, these are complicated beasts and if ur not careful can send u off in a totally wrong direction
but you’ve got a great head start with u and ur other half being a mechanic , may i ask does he work on all sorts of makes
Plse let us know how u get on
