nothing wrong with the welding rod Doc. Just the person welding with them. Not set up right or experience is all. Just give it time

Looked at your pics are you using 7018 ac/dc rod or straight 7018 rod?
Remember you are using ac not dc for welding.
heat looks a little high and you are moving to fast slow down a bit. when you get to the end of your weld hold the puddle a bit and let the crater(stop) fill in

Just seen you've edited this

I'm using the ones I linked to which are AC/DC rods and those welds there I was running 115A as they were 3.2mm (1/8th)

Gonna give them 7018's another go soon, they're still in the oven keeping warm so that may just help them out and will try moving a bit slower at 90A

Problem was damp rods..... Put them in the oven overnight as the pilot lights always on at a nice 30-40* and they sparked up fine today. Last time I buy sif welding electrodes though! Gonna be esab or murex I think

I was planning on just letting them live in the oven tbh. We've got two huge ones and pilots are always on in both but at that price may be worth having one just incase I'm doing stuff away

Those tubes will be better. when they come out of oven they attract moisture from the air quickly. They are cheap as chips, do it the right way Doc

Just been using them to repair the tractor arm and after being out the oven for an hour or so they're still fine. Will buy one anyway though as they'd be handy to have instead of running indoors to grab 5 at a time

Nothings been melted but electrician said it'd be best to wait just incase it does some damage, with freezer on theres a little bit too much draw

Was running the welder at my mates yesterday and it didn't trip out and he's got the same 32A breaker B rated. Make no difference anyway, lose 2 days of work from it but means I can clear up ready for the series to arrive

So you've plugged a whacking great welder into a thirteen amp socket on a ring main without any thought for what power your welder needs or what type of supply you need?
Ring mains and thirteen amp socket just weren't designed for that kind of use, get it hard wired or a ceeform type socket put in on a dedicated circuit.

Stop being an arse and go read the other post on the welder
