Had an arse clenching moment today. Was climbing a short steep very icy hill in low range (auto p38) when I ground to a halt thro lack of grip and started sliding back out of control. So rather than sliding backwards with brakes locked and car starting to slew sideways, I gave it some gas and managed to keep it straight until we reached the bottom, about 20 metres. But now there's a jolt on gearchanges in normal drive, up and down. Oil and filter changed about 2k ago. Cheers. Steve

in that case not related....possibly due to your arse still being clenched you can feel the gear changes more!!!:D

Yep. Parked up now. Will try later and report. Btw that was a scary moment. Not sure if I did the right thing but it certainly worked. May consider an off road driving course and learn some basics.

absolutely the right thing, the same happened to me last year. if you hadn't then it may have slid round gripped and tipped you over, best to come down straight.

yep, fore sure....owt else would have lost control. Had similar myself, downhill towin cara-shed, brakes overheated.......threw in reverse, loads-a-gas, reverse wheel spin enuf to regain control!
As you say, an ass-clenchin moment for sure!!
