Hi guys,
I'm in the process of replacing the swivel housing on a 1996 300tdi Defender (as well as half shafts, CV joints, Stub Axles etc in the process).
I've just come to fit the race bearings in the swivel housing, and found that on one side of the swivel there is a lip which the race sits against once it has been inserted all the way. On the top side of the housing though, there is no lip; the hole just goes straight through and seems to be too small for the race to fit in.
Looking at this video, it seems that this is the same as the swivel housing that I've bought:
The housing that was already on the car is different.
Do I need to replace the housing, or can I use the same "top pin bushing" that he shows in the video?
