then read the FT from cold in the morning after a night rest without starting the engine only with ignition on, it should be the same with the coolant temp at that point if the sensor is OK and close to the ambient/overall temp(use a laser thermometer on the head for that) if you see what i mean

I will try to do it in the morning might be a bit hard though because I start work at 05:00, also i don't have a laser thermometer. I might not get to it till Saturday. At which point I will be redoing the injector seals and washer again encase I have messed them up some how.

Hi all
Got to this just now the readings are.
Coolant temp = 23.0
Fuel temp = 24.7
Inlet air temp = 24.2
Air flow =4.5
Ambient pressure = 101.7
Manifold turbo pressure =102.81

Hope this can help me, I'm getting a bit fedup with this problem now.

cheers
Stewart.

I presume it was with ignition on and engine not running then the readings are OK, now watch the rpm and battery voltage while cranking and tell how much is the airflow after it started

OK here goes
RPM 250 up to 500 then starts.
BATT 12.41 then14.25 after starting just checked the Batt drop while cranking and it drops to 9-10.
Air flow after starting 56.7.

IMO that's the problem, the ECU needs at least 11V while cranking to start right away, 10.5 is the lowest limit, i'd replace the starter motor if you are certain that the battery is not weak or use jump leads from other vehicle and if it still drops to 10 or below with extra power then the starter is the problem as it has some internal issue which drains too much power while cranking despite of the fact that it spins well, not uncomon

Thanks M8 I think I have a starter, First I will try the jump start and see If it still drops, then If so I will change the starter and follow up on the results.
I will give it a go tomorrow.
Again thanks for all your help, hope it works.

Even if the voltage doesnt drop so much with extra power but still hard to start the internal problem of the starter can mix up the crank signal's waveform and disturb the ECU, i hate to recommend more work while i'm not sure that's the problem cos i'll have a remorse if you work in vain but if i was you i'd replace the starter anyway to be 100% ruled out cos seems that all the other issues suspect things were already ruled out unless something happenned and the timing was mixed up somehow but that's beyond my knowledge. Good luck

Thanks M8 will give it a go any way and let you know how I get on.
I can't really see how the timing could be out as it ran for a week after the chassis swap was done.
It did have a new clutch rear seal and sump gasket while the engine and boxes where out.
But again it did run for a week with no problems though.

Thanks

Stewart.
