Sorry you mis read me - I wa bored WITHOUT this thread. There was a whole 90+ minutes with no one posting......I nearly turned the TV on
I love a good argument, even when it gets pointless because it's going round in circles.
ANyway, a serious point.
THere is a BIG difference between what is right (or beleived to be right) and what id perceived to be right.
Even if you convince everybody on here that 18 vehicles is perfectly in the right, and you should fight for that right - it won't change the fact that people (and I mean the people that complain and get lanes closed) do think it's wrong.
My landy makes less emissions than a porsche, a merc, a BMW, a Mini FFS, but people still want to ban me off the road because it's a 4x4.
Yes you've got to fight them.....but in the right way at the right time.
Fighting for 18 vehicle convoys is not the right fight - it's not winnable and IMHO pointless beacuse that number of vehicles isn't fun to do anyway!!! You can't even have a decent chat round the camp fire with more than 10 peeps.

That's a fair comment, Tim, but when did you last see a greeny / bobblehead / whatever you want to call them concede anything? The "fight" is too one-sided for me and the more these people are appeased then the more they win by attrition.

So how then do you justify stating that everything that 90boy wrote was horse****, because you went on a trip 14months after the one he commented on and they didn't do the same things on both trips?

How can he say that 18 Land Rovers have "torn up" the valley. What damage did they do that "THE REST OF US" (meaning your own 18 or so Land Rovers) wouldn't do? There was no tearing up when I was there and I can't see how there could have been if they stuck to the road.
No. I'm sorry. This started as an anti-Protrax thread because that is what it is. It's just slagging someone off for the sake of it. The thrust of the OP is that he was mildly inconvenienced and then makes up a reason for slagging them off.

You are part right here, it is very 1 sided.
But that means they can pick any old fight they like and probably win.....it really does count towards closing a lane if just 1 person says they were a bit annoyed. Crazy, but true.
We are badly out gunned, and you should realise that that means we have to pick the fights we can win and make sure we win them, not waste time on fighting for pointless things just because there are 'right'. Those fights would have to have fair sides, which we ain't got.
They win by attrition because we pick the wrong fights, and there are enough idiots out there to give them ammo.

But this trip was 14months before your trip you thick **** and as you weren't there you don't know what 90boy saw. However you have decided because that didn't happen in your trip then it couldn't have possibly happened at all. Therefore the OP was horse****e ? Surely the logic of an idiot??

Do you know what 90boy saw? Have you even been to Happy Valley or on a Protrax event?

Tim - I understand what you are saying and you are, of course, right about being outnumbered. My point is that as soon as you concede one iota that common sense is not true or that black is in fact white to someone then they are starting to win. Give someone an inch and they'll take a mile. Arguments are not won on strength, they are won by logic.
