Bravo 771 last ages, grip is ok in wet, and off road are 0K too, but they're not a mud tyre, and on my Freelander, they were very noisy.
Ive put 764 bighorns on. They are pretty quiet for an MT and are not too aggressive. I found my Insa Dakars too aggressive for every day use. I ran the Maxxis Bravos on my old 300tdi. They were great all around, just lacking in mud again. I found the noise fine. I need to stop buying tyres....Thanks ron, what mt's are you looking at and i take it you do a little more off road work to go straight onto mt's?
I'll have a look at the bighorns, a lot of tyres I've seen don't do the 255/65/16 which I'd need if they were fitted all year round as the size has to be identical to the original dimensions.Ive put 764 bighorns on. YesA second set is the best way, then I can fit some knobbly insa's but I don't want to swap the buggers everytime we go Into the woods.. Which is anytime.. Have you felt the weight of those buggers!!!
Insa turbos.... Niiiice. Look at your dog he's a serious Landy hound
Tyre chart:Hankook Dynapro AT2 RF11 255/65 R16 109T.
Thats all the info I have on them.
The tread is brilliant, rain, motorway and in the crap. Very stable tyre.
Thanks again, I'll make do for a couple of years If they last and sell them off and buy some more tougher tyres... Live and learn. Its also worth looking at the ply rating. It used to be the number of plys which would tell you how thick the sidewall was, now its a measure of tyre stiffness but not direclty the number of plys, but a bigger ply rating is still a stiffer stronger tyre.
So what you lot have for boots?
I currently still have a mixture of 32” MTs that I ran on the farm. 275/75/(15?) insa turbo2 special track/Cooper STT pros
I want something more road friendly and a little smaller diameter but can’t go too small as the lift kit is staying. 30” perhaps? My mate has D2 wheels with tyres I can have cheap but I’m not sure if they’d need spigots or extra faffing around.
What has @Grrrrrr got? They seems to sit nice, work in the mud and handle the everyday tarmac
