:doh:hi,
got an old G reg 110 and the handbrake cable has snapped, found a good thread on replacing it so got to work, however (as with most things on this wagon) it doest seem to look like any of the pictures i have seen at the drum end of the cable (see attached pic) the old cable sleeve just dissapeared into this thing pokin out the drum and for the life of me i cant remove it! tried unscrewing with pliars, plain pulling and hammer and screw driver but its not shifting, am i going to have to start removing prop shaft and taking the drum apart?

any help would be greatly appreciated
cheers

thats because you have 300 tdi on hand brake and the part your struggling with has spring clip holdind it the other side ,its easier to prise clip off completetly than trying to compress it

if its an consolation mate, its not as big a job as it sounds. I did it the other weekend and was pretty simples :)

turns out it wasnt as much of a mare as i was anticipating, trickiest bit was removing the spring clip on the inside of the drum, just mega fiddly doing it with the shoes still in place!
cheers for the help lads

if anyone reads this and wants to know how i ended up doing it just drop me a message and ill go through it :)
