Hand Brake adjustment

My handbrake wont stay up. The notches all seem to be intact, but the catch isn't springing back against the notches. where is the spring for the catch? how can i get it to spring back to it's normally closed position?

the spring is in the lever, unscrew the push in button and the spring sits on a washer, wait a minute I think i might have some pictures of when i refurbed mine
 
They do sieze occasionally, strip, clean, grease and reassemble - plenty of drawings in the manuals.
 
I've got an official Land Rover wallet that must have been designed by someone at LR somewhere. Perhaps a janitor in a smelly broom cupboard. Doesn't make it a Land Rover. It's still a wallet
