hammerite or not

Hi iv got a 1996 3dr 300tdi disco in very good condition when i lift the carpets all the floor is spot on but i was wanting to pretect it for the future so im going to waxoil the underside but was thinking about giving the floor a coat of hammerite to protect it. Is this a good idea?
Also does anybody no how to stop the little sqeeking noise i sometimes get from the steering wheel when turning it?

hammerite is very good does seem to protect a lot better than some paints

there are 2 pins (electrical contacts ) on the back of the steering wheel these serve for either a centre horn buton or airbag they just need a little petroleum jelly ( vaselene ) putting on them with a cotton ear hole cleaner this should shut the little fekker up

look down the gap between the cowling and the back of the steering wheel you should just be able to see the pins with a torch ( the ear ole cleaner will just about get in there ) if yer struggling its easier to take the colum cowling off than the wheel

use wurth rust stop on it first. comes in litre tins.

The floors rust on the inside if there is water leaking in and puddling. If yours is dry then I wouldn't worry about Hammeriting it, just keep an eye on to make sure it stays dry.
I wish I'd known about the cure for the squeeky steering wheel cure when I had mine. I thought it was one of those "they all do that sir" faults. It was never as bad in summer as in the winter. I got used to it, but passengers found it annoying/amusing.
