Sounds like you might have a seized caliper piston Andy. Check the piston on the side with 1/4 inch on it.
If it is seized pull it out and go round the piston with some fine wet and dry. I believe you can buy the piston and seal kits quite cheap.
 
She lives! Think the fact the wheel bearing had completely collapsed on that side hasn't helped matters, but the offside brake was in pretty much the same state.
So now we have new discs, pads, calipers and wheel bearings both sides.
 
Ok.... Shall we do some of the lanes around the punch bowl then. Normal meeting place 10am. I'll see if I can change it around a bit to avoid that bad lane.

okey dokey..... If we get there for 10 then hang around for a bit then.... I'm having battery trouble so hopefully I wont be late too.
