Thought it might be a good idea to have a list of greenlanes regarding location and level of difficulty, when someone drives a lane they could do a quick write up on whats involved, eg need a winch, or swimming trunks lol, as alot of members seem to be asking these questions in different areas of the site, might be handy to have all that info in one place, i know i would find it very handy indeed, what do you think ?

If you did that there wouldn't be any green lanes left to drive cos they would all be TRO'd through over use.

Interesting someone that is a new member, asks us to spill the beans so he dont have to do the work...... wonder why we keep the lanes quite....it may be to protect them form idoits that cant be bothered about doing the work to find them, and to find out weather there are TRO's on them, na I'll keep the ones I know quite and share them with people i know will use them reponsibly.

Comming from a county with very few lanes that we can use and most of them with TRO' now due to idoits/overuse ect, you will not see me posting the details on here.

Suggest you get to know people and do the foot work, become trusted, thats how to find out.

Then we'll end up with a load of plonkers in their rav's and ****boxes STUCK in mud....... result...... blanket TRO's :( :( :( :(

Its not just the rice burners that do the damage, you see some really irresponsable Landy owners as well, and a number of people that cant and dont know how to drive off road.... just look at some of them on the off road course at the Suffolk 4x4 Show, they got stuck/chewed up the course, and that was dry.........to often see the ! got a Lift, a Snorkel, Big Mud Tyres and with More Power, i'll get any where attitude thats what chew up the Lanes etc.

And when they close the green down, they'll bitch about it. Remember green lane are for everyone, hikers, bikers, horses, everyone . what I see on LZ is the councils are starting to close or restrict the use of them, and the tax payers are fixing them up because of your abuse. Maybe you get with the councils and have a few work/clean up days to help secure a better image for yourselves.

I do know that the Essex Council does work with local 4x4 Clubs to keep the Lanes open and upto a passable conditon, I have put my name down, but most of the work happens during the weekdays, this is organised via the Rights of Ways Officer, but with limited funds the days are few and between due to Council workers having to be present - low priorty in the list for funding, also in the UK there are other orgainisations like GRAIG and GLASS that do work as well.

Its also very unlikely that the ones that are shall we say creating most the dammage could not be bothered to do any work any how. Just wing that they cant use the lane or even sod it lets roar down it and do a bandit run, then moan when they get knicked.
