They give newbies a bad name. That said I am a newbie (based in Nottingham) itching to get my standard discovery 2.5td a bit muddy. Don't want smash it as use it as main transport but happy to get it muddy!! If your up for organising something that's not to far from me I would be there and won't let you down!! Ray

Wow I completely forgot about this group, and in all fairness I don't want a bad name against myself and il tell you all straight,
However this is purely for @Paul D
When I first but this post I had every intention of using my Land Rover and meeting new people and friends and becoming more of aware of byways,
However unfortuntaley a day before the arranged trip I lost my grandad
and I suppose I did hide abit from everybody friends and family included, all I wanted to do was be with my Nan, however a week later my head gasket went so therefore I got too annoyed and parked it at my nans and left it for 8months. With it been at my nans all my tools that I use fixing my cars were in my grandads garage and I just couldn't face going inside for a long time, eventually though i did pluck up the courage and cleaned the dust and started moving things around and eventually fixed the Land Rover, I'm back using it now and thoroughly enjoying it again, I have been using the forum a lot more again because I love driving my discovery. Owing to the long time away from the forum though I genuinely forgot about this post, I sincerely apologise and would still love to go out on a trip with you and I would happily try and plot a route if you would like that, again I'm so sorry to everybody else if I spoilt there day,

Heh, no sweat, it was ages ago ..
It'll come round again, though some lanes have recently closed/changed near Maltby.
I know all about 'hiding' ... 'nuff said ...
I do quite like some of the lanes near bawtry area around scaftworth I think, not sure on the conditions of them though as I haven't been down any in a while

We also do some routes from Bawtry, through Retford area, North notts etc ... my only issue is time and money to do everything!
I don't go laning a lot locally now, tend to go to Wales, Lakes, Derbyshire, North Yorkshire and Dales and spend the weekends out camping with mates.
When I can be bothered to I'll put a post up, at the moment I'm aiming to get the 90 ready for Wales in early April, so it'll be late April/May before I do get a route up ..
I don't go laning a lot locally now, tend to go to Wales, Lakes, Derbyshire, North Yorkshire and Dales and spend the weekends out camping with mates.
When I can be bothered to I'll put a post up, at the moment I'm aiming to get the 90 ready for Wales in early April, so it'll be late April/May before I do get a route up ..
