bastid!
somone has to tell yu which direction to go in - drivin wiv yo eyes closed indeed!
theres something not so sporting about charging folks to go laning with you, it tends to remove the comeraderie, dont you agree
Just Out Of Interst, If You Have Been With Them, What Do They "charge" For A Days Laning
I think simply charge £30 for the day and £60 for a weekend, thats what i paid, but you'll have to ask him. Was £20 for many years. Some clubs charge £10 used to be £5. Others charge more depends what they offer.
He (simply) is about the cheapest, some charge as much as £180 per weekend, plus accomadation & fuel, and they get a good 20 or so plus in their convoys. Seems crazy cause you can join a club for £15 pa and go the same route 4 plus times a year and pay as little as £10 for the accomadation.
But these commercial groups advertise in mags etc while finding a couple of decent clubs can be a bit hit & miss, best bet is too view there websites see what they plan too do and have done.
woah there fella, yer got me wrong,i was just wonderin what they ripped you off for, i werent thinkin o joinin em, ive been laning for over 20 years, i wouldnt pay anyone to go , or charge anyone to come out with us, to me its just a feckin rip off. if he enjoys laning and does it cos its his hobby why charge people, but then again i think anyone that pays to go laning is out of their tree!
I had the same thoughs as you mate, why pay to go out with people until I releaised I wasn't going out with anyone at all for months on end.
Not everyone has tinertnet access, just joining some crapppy club doesn't mean you'll get out if the club don't go. So for some people its a way to "get into the hobby" and more important a circle of like mine minds, you meet others exchange teley & mob numbers and organise your own days out.
Might be a bloody rip off but at least you get out, not like some crappy £30 a year clubs, you get a crappy newsletter 3 times a year, crappy windsreeen badge, 10% off insurance you'll get any how, and one offer or a greenlane trip half way across the country booked 3 months in advance which you end up paying £10 for anyhow.
as long as you have a winchwhere abouts on the coast are you laner, yer more thasn welcome to come with us fer nowt, we are next out second weekend in dec
just wudnt be a gud days laning without playing wiv winches, durty's serviced his one ready for meoh aye i forgot stig likes to partake in at least one winching display each time we go out
thats wot he dunits about time, his cable were all seized and the drum needed lubricating, it wouldnt be a bad thing for him to unwind the lot and respool it properly
