hi all if anyone fancies laning this sunday we're going out whittlesey, march, chatteris direction. we're meeting at 10:00 at mc d's next to toys r us in peterborough, if ya wanna come let us no.

lr110 thought id find you in this thread. :)
Been having a look at folks phots, gosh a disco doing things i didnt think a disco could do. mind you i suppose ive got a stereotype of leather trim and mummy taking daddys girl to the stables to ride binky. Looks like i may have to rethink that one.
Hope youve got the patience for some of us GL vrirgins! were all looking forward to your event anyhow.

Soapbox
If anyone invites a green laning virgin along, look after them. Today i whent GL with some experienced green laners. I had a wonderful time. It could have been a very different experience if i had been invited and then forgotten.
They encouraged, helped, and even made sure at all times an experienced member was near to me to help out. If you go green laning, then go with experienced peeps, and experienced peeps if you invite someone along look after them, it can make all the difference.
Today i did a 180 on a muddy knife edge ridge with a huge lake port side and a 20ft drop to starboard with enemy hordes ready to finish off what the lanes didnt! pooped meself. But despite all that, i had a fantastic time.
So guys, Mr Munka, lr110 and co. Thankyou.
Would i go again?

You betcha! :D

well i have finally fitted a C.B radio, i need to play out again but need notice as i work most sundays and will need a bit of time to change my heater matrix, i have bypassed the heater at the mo so can still drive and it isnt too cold yet
what is it with land rovers and braeaking down???

My heater seems to make a lot of noise but not exactly do a lot. I have accepted the fact that when it's winter outside, its winter inside as well!

I deffo need to get out soon, it has been far far too long!

well due to not enough forward facing seats in my landy i've had to get a station wagon, anyone had any experience with taking a v8 off road, into the drink and generally abusing it?? what mods do you recommend to the engine?

no havent sold the old one yet, i want to take the cb radio off, the pioneer tool mounting kit the nato hitch and most importantly the bottle opener off!!

what have you done to stop the water getting in the distribtor cap? mines on gas as well what sort of mpg am i looking at? though it does go faster on petrol (and smells better)

is yours a road legal trayback now kev??

the gas kit is good and will save you money.
mine is road legal, just needs a MOT.
you can get a water proof kit for them or just use a bag.

cant quote on the MPG, I have taken my gas kit off now as well as my tanks were put in a place which was no good for off roading. where is your tank fitted?

Is it a carb V8? Use a couple of marigolds with tie-wraps on the dizzy if you dont want to buy a "kit" :).
We have done quite a few things on the RR V8 to make it water-tight-ish but mainly because its an EFI...so relocation of bits, sealed but breathable boxes for things and so on.
