Hi
Looking for some advice. I’ve had 2 range rovers in the past, a classic and a P38. Loved them both. Got a Mercedes E350 convertible at the mo and not had too many problems with it but really want to get back into range rovers again. My budget will be about £20000 so looking at 2013/2014 sport. I’m a competent mechanic so are there many problems I’m likely to come across? I was always working on the p38 but it was lovely when it was working. Thank you for any help/replies
Tim

That’s why I’m asking for advice! Haven’t had any dealings with newer models so asking people who know more than me

I am with @kermit_rr
TDV8 with the 8 speed box.
The L405 version SDV8 seems to give better MPG but had some glitches when first launched, but by now may be sorted, so a good 1 of them would be available.

If you are will to do some spannering then even better, keeps plenty dosh in the pocket and get good diagnostics.

All I will say is say away from any V6 or 6 speed box. No idea whats fitted in that year range.
But I am also not hearing good reports for the enigerm engine to be honest its a big car and needs a big engine.

Only do a bit off roading when I go shooting or fishing.
Engines with cranks that break, turbo failures on others, need to remove the body on some to do work, plus the crazy overcomplicated electronics. Don't forget things like keyless entry that makes them so easy to steal that they are becoming progressively harder to insure. You must be a masochist.

Didn’t realise that they were so bad these days. Fitted an air compressor, height sensors head gaskets etc to my v8 P38, even converted it to gas but was hoping the reliability would be better these days. Was lovely when it was running
