Stainless steel bolts aren't as strong as 8.8 grade bolts, and 8.8 grade bolts aren't as strong as carrots. I'd just put in some good quality 8.8 zinc plated ones.
Dude when you swapped out your military seats for normal ones is it literally unbolt old and bolt in new or is it more involved than that? Is here anything I need to make sure I get with new seats or keep off the old seats etc?
Cheers
Ed
That's a good idea because you can lay in the foam / carpet / whatever and don't have to hold it until the glue dries like I did with my 88" h/t years ago.Are you going to insulate the roof whilst it is off?
don't normally like extended arches but yours looks great.
can i ask, what was the offset on your original 16x7 modulars?
what you doing with your bikini hood?
I'll keep that for next summer
So it's been a few months since I posted any photos. Not really that much done to be honest..... I rubbed the front bumper and rear cross member down and sprayed them in a satin black. I also relocated the front number plate to the middle. The rear cross member had a couple of rust scabs so took those bits back to the bare metal to make sure all rust was removed. It was only very mild surface rust but its best to get rid of it. Also my modded home made bikini hood is working well with the flexi tent pole sewn into the rear to hold it straight. It still lifts up nicely at about 20mph plus and looks pretty cool. Also painted the front galvanised steering guard with some special paint for going over galvanised steel. All in all I think I'm done on this project. My paint prep obviously wasn't good enough judging by the flaking.... but I think I like the ratty look better than a polished defender lol
