Evening all,

After some ACE problems and ripping the whole system out and replacing with standard. Thought I would clean up the rear of the chassis. Turns out there is a few holes around the rear suspension and shock mounts!

With the MOT due the middle of next month, looking at getting it sorted pronto! Just after any recommendations around Middlesex or East/South East Oxford area for a garage that can do a decent job at a reasonable price!

Cheers

I'm not a garage but I might be able to weld it up? I'm based about 7 miles west of Oxford.

Do you have any pictures of the affected areas?

If you can get to SW Herts ( where Herts, Bucks and Middx meet) there's Harris Mayes in Rickmansworth ( 01923 711800) or as an off the wall thought, Phil Honour in Little Chalfont Bucks.
Phil has his own HGV/ lorry garage and restores traction engines as a hobby ( so nothing fazes him) and is a true craftsman, his welding is no exception - he looked after both my lorries for 15 years.
Harris Mayes are LR specialists and have looked after both my Range Rovers, a Series 3 and now my Defender - dead straight to deal with, Peter Harris Mayes is the guy to speak to, he may also have some good ideas for nearer to you, but they are easy to get to off the M25 or M40
Hope it helps

These are the best photos I can get at the minute without taking the shocks out. There is holes behind both shocks as well. No welding experience myself, so unsure of how 'tricky' these areas are to fix.

I'd say what you've got there is only the tip of the iceberg. I don't mind having a look to see if it's something I'd want to take on.

If you PM me perhaps we could discuss?

That looks like it will need new rear chassis sections welding in,not just patching up as it is not worth the time and effort involved.
