As stated I'm going to pull the front of the P38 apart and change the leaking o-ring on the water pump. So I might as well do the pump as well. Are there any preferences on which pumps to use avoid. LR want £200+ and as there are pumps as cheap as £19 it seems silly to pay full LR prices. So what is everyone else's experience with various non gen pumps?

I did mine last year got mine for around £45-£50 rimmer etc, hardest thing was getting the right spanner to take off the fan. Depending on where you are if you haven’t got one I can lend you mine, based in Sutton Surrey.

Got a spanner mate but thank you. I’m in Poole, Dorset.

Rimmers tend to be the dearest.

Take it this is petrol? Oil burner pumps are way less than that.

Weasel manual Grrrrr. Just like u.

The non Britpart pump for the diesel is going for 38 notes exc VAT at Island.

Seen several around £30-40 mark. QH, KS and Britpart were all metal impeller so which would you choose. I’m leaning in the QH direrction.

Got an OEM one from Island about 5 years ago and no issues. Don't recognise the brand he has now but as stemac33 says, stay away from Britpart!

Always worth a call to Eurocarparts for a quote. SPRING55 is the latest offer code I saw. The Circoli one is £44 - never heard of them so no idea how good they are. 55% descount would be good. Ring the main office and sometimes they get manufacturers original parts at a decent price with the discount. I don't know who made the water pumps for the M51 engine but it'll be the same as the BMW.
