l tested the glow plugs on my 135,000 mile TD5 Defender.
All four were defective.
Two were open circuit, one was dead short, and one read about 35K Ohms
So l took out the relay.
l've bought four new glow plugs and will obviously fit them, but the Land Rover seems to start instantly without them, even in freezing weather.
What are the glow plugs for on the TD5 is it extreme cold starting or more for emissions reduction?
