good morning folks,

I posted a while ago relating to cold start issues. Bought myself a set of BERU glowplugs. Removed the 1st old glow plug(end was black with carbon) and whilst it was out I fitted the new one to check they were heating up. Turned on the ignition, the glow plug symbol came on and then extinguished after a few seconds however the glow plug remained cold and show no signs of glowing/heating up.

Assuming I have diagnosed correctly what can I do next. I am hoping that there is another fuse to check as if I remember correctly someone on the forum stated that the glow plug symbol coming on in the cab does not necessarily mean they will be heating up?

suggestions please.

right all four glow plugs changed and now they all glow bright orange and kick out some serious heat.

I stumbled across, in the engine bay fuseboard towards the ECU a single black and yellow cable that was not secured and very loose. I tightened it down and the glow plugs instantly worked so assume this must be the live feed for the plugs?

Am I correct?
