RAVE is useless!! don't bother trying to follow it as a guide!

Looks like you have had an oil leak from the head. Where exactly did RAVE let you down?

some of that oil will be fuel (as I used oil for that)

Manifold didn't need to come off, that's one job RAVE tells you to do. but then neglects to mention the 10mm bolts around the timing cover, the torx screws holding the chain guides

anyway it's off now and on with the next part :)

Simple rule of stripping things down is to remove anything holding it on. Try lifting head out with manifold attached or more to the point replacing it with it attached. I think you may find the there are references to various other sections within the head removal part directing you to those relevant areas. RAVE is good if you follow it crap if you don't. Items 25 to 27 seem to cover what you say was missed.
